The Book of Water

This is a document dedicated to the characterization of the element of Water. The following excerpts are intended to describe the natural element of Water, in such a way, as to bring out the natural characteristics of the element and relate it to the character of the Civilized human being. In hopes that upon reading this document, the reader might be able to more closely and intimately relate to the natural world around them. Draw upon the powers, and being of nature, in a way that strengthens the person, their personality and spirit.

The Book of Water

Axiom of Water

I am Water.

I am the tiny stream, the mighty river, the relentless ocean.

I am a substance, and yet i am fluid.

Motion for me is easy, flowing from one thing to another.

I exist in exist in many forms. I am usually soft, but can be hard as rocks.

I am usually heavy, but can be found floating in the sky.

I am among the most diverse things you will find on earth.

And yet i give life to all on earth.

I am Water.

Why is water like emotion? Between the fluid elements of your personality, there are two major different psychological elements. That is thoughts and emotions. Emotions being something that is something a-little more sensual. Similar to thoughts and ideas, in the way that an emotion is a thought. But different from an idea in the way that an emotion is something that is heavily connected to a human beings empathetic system. That is, their ability to feel. A thought might come about to a person, and hang around their head,.. in front of their eyes, under a persons comprehension. But an emotion is something that takes place underneath the eyes, the skin. It takes place in the blood of a person, you might say, through the heart of their bodies elements.

So you could say that the waters of our bodies, can carry the hevier contents of the spirit, the emotions. And if you could say that you might be able to consider, the waters of the human body, to be a type of medium, through which the passions of our mind body and hearts are played. The Medium of our human emotion.

The Definition of:

Water

Water is a transparent, tasteless, odorless, and nearly colorless chemical substance, which is the main constituent of Earth's hydrosphere, and the fluids of most living organisms. It is vital for all known forms of life, even though it provides no calories or organic nutrients. Its chemical formula is H2O, meaning that each of its molecules contains one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms, connected by covalent bonds. Water is the name of the liquid state of H2O at standard ambient temperature and pressure. It forms precipitation in the form of rain and aerosols in the form of fog. Clouds are formed from suspended droplets of water and ice, its solid state. When finely divided, crystalline ice may precipitate in the form of snow. The gaseous state of water is steam or water vapor. Water moves continually through the water cycle of evaporation, transpiration, condensation, precipitation, and runoff, usually reaching the sea.

A liquid is a nearly incompressible fluid that conforms to the shape of its container but retains a (nearly) constant volume independent of pressure. As such, it is one of the four fundamental states of matter (the others being solid, gas, and plasma), and is the only state with a definite volume but no fixed shape. A liquid is made up of tiny vibrating particles of matter, such as atoms, held together by intermolecular bonds. Like a gas, a liquid is able to flow and take the shape of a container. Most liquids resist compression, although others can be compressed. Unlike a gas, a liquid does not disperse to fill every space of a container, and maintains a fairly constant density. A distinctive property of the liquid state is surface tension, leading to wetting phenomena. Water is, by far, the most common liquid on Earth.

The density of a liquid is usually close to that of a solid, and much higher than in a gas. Therefore, liquid and solid are both termed condensed matter. On the other hand, as liquids and gases share the ability to flow, they are both called fluids. Although liquid water is abundant on Earth, this state of matter is actually the least common in the known universe, because liquids require a relatively narrow temperature/pressure range to exist. Most known matter in the universe is in gaseous form (with traces of detectable solid matter) as interstellar clouds or in plasma from within stars.

Liquid is one of the four primary states of matter, with the others being solid, gas and plasma. A liquid is a fluid. Unlike a solid, the molecules in a liquid have a much greater freedom to move. The forces that bind the molecules together in a solid are only temporary in a liquid, allowing a liquid to flow while a solid remains rigid.

A liquid, like a gas, displays the properties of a fluid. A liquid can flow, assume the shape of a container, and, if placed in a sealed container, will distribute applied pressure evenly to every surface in the container. If liquid is placed in a bag, it can be squeezed into any shape. Unlike a gas, a liquid is nearly incompressible, meaning that it occupies nearly a constant volume over a wide range of pressures; it does not generally expand to fill available space in a container but forms its own surface, and it may not always mix readily with another liquid. These properties make a liquid suitable for applications such as hydraulics.

Liquid particles are bound firmly but not rigidly. They are able to move around one another freely, resulting in a limited degree of particle mobility. As the temperature increases, the increased vibrations of the molecules causes distances between the molecules to increase. When a liquid reaches its boiling point, the cohesive forces that bind the molecules closely together break, and the liquid changes to its gaseous state (unless superheating occurs). If the temperature is decreased, the distances between the molecules become smaller. When the liquid reaches its freezing point the molecules will usually lock into a very specific order, called crystallizing, and the bonds between them become more rigid, changing the liquid into its solid state

The Qualities of water

- Fluid form of matter. has the property of fluidity, under the action of external forces they will flow and adapt their shapes to that of their containers

- heavier of the fluid forms of matter

- has multiple states of existence

-exists in cycles. Going from one state to another

generally seeks to stay in on spot, or seeks to be earth bound

(cloud)Definition for liquid aerosol: A colloidal suspension of liquid in gas.

(Ice)Definition for liquid crystal: A substance that has liquid-like long-range disorder but some crystal-like aspects of short-range order.

its volume is fixed; it will not expand to fill a container - unlike gases and plasmas

most liquids are incompressible - their volume hardly changes when pressure changes - unlike gases and plasmas

liquids are fluids, so they can flow. Provided there is gravity, their shapes adapt to that of their containers - unlike solids

liquids are condensed matter, so their volumes are similar to those of solids, and much smaller than gases and plasmas

Water is......

Water is the element of cycles - The waters of the earth as well as the waters of the body, exist in cycles.  The water of the earth, exists first as a liquid on the ground. Then rain, or snow in the mountains create rivers. The rivers flow to the oceans and the process is repeated. Across thousands of miles of land, the cycle of water, repeats itself. Over and over again. In the human body, the blood, which is primarily made out of water, also exists in cycles. Going from the heart, to the upper organs of the body, the lungs, throat and brain, and then down into the lower half of the body, the legs and feet, and then up back again to the heart. The blood cycles throughout the entire body, evry day of our lives. Making hundreds of revolutions per day. You could say that within the human body, the water is very much the same as it is outside in nature.

Water is close connection - the structure is also a much denser structer than that of air. The particulates are close together. connected. There are no spaces in water. Down to its molecular structure, the atomic components of water sit, and fit stacked on top of each other, and side by side, with no gaps or spaces in between their states. Water is seamless. It even seeks to be seamless, and will gravitate toward other particles of liquid, and merging rather than remaining a separate entity. The nature of water is to be close. To be like water means that peoples movements in life, should sometimes be close, dense, expressing a strong flow of spirit within the bounds of their expression.

Water seeks a base - In existing in cycles, one of those parts of the cycle, is to come back to a base. Water in the world seeks to be low to the ground. You could say that water is also the heaviest fluid form of matter, and unlike gas, operates completely within the bounds of gravity. That means that its structure will always, while fluidly moving, also seek to be grounded.

Water flows - Do not allow them to be blocked. Water is meant to circulate. It is meant to flow from one place to another, as a smooth rolling entity. The flow of waters brings nourishment to all aspects of the body. And if considered, provides nourishment to many other things on planet earth. And water is both powerful and graceful in its flowing. The white water currents of the river could sweep away an elephant if powerful enough. The tiny streams of the mountains over time will carve canyons into the massive rocks. The ocean, with its liquaceous liquid flowing, pushes and pulls waves back and forth perpetually. Stand in its waves and you would know that it is a force unequaled, sweeping you off your feet with only a slight movement.

Water is pure - Otherwise we are doomed to be filled with the scummier elements of the world. Sickened without the completion of the waters flow.

The Spirit of Water

So we can see that water is some fluid element of substance, that generally seeks unanimity within its body of existence. Water is the element of close connection. Of spatial intimacy. Therefor, if compared to the human being, and drawn into a symbolism, water would be the element of closest connection. The human Senses of sight, sound and smell, feeling. Are all things that connect human beings to the world around them.

What are emotions? What are feelings? things that roll around inside the body, directly connected with the world around them. Emotions and feelings are similar to thoughts and ideas, and yet they are not the same. I would say that emotions are the heavier form of thought. The lower denser form of thought when compared to ideas.

Much like Air sits ontop of water. Both elements are fluid, but one is denser than the other.

And there is one more quality that owned to by water that is of special notation. And that is the cycle rotations of water. Water’s most notable property is in its closeness of molecules. Liquid water, as a from of matter, has molecules that are so close together, that interaction amoungst its quantites are said to take place almost at a simultaneous pace. If you drop a rock into one stretch of water. It will not be long before the other stretch of water feels the force applied. Energy moves through water, easily, shortly put. This is part of the reason that scientist find liquid water to be such an effective medium. Just as nature does. The cohesion between any sort of body of liquid water, is seamless, and completly connected, on the smallest of levels, and yet still fluid.

This cohesion beleive it or not, is also variably the reason that water has the tendancy to go through, or be put through cycles.

When a wave is made within water.. the energy is distributed amongst the water within a chain of mechanical reactions. That way one wave made, turns into many waves in the wake of that one wave. Water has a quality of circulation. And its qualities in its circulation follow the same characteristics that are attributed to it liquation.

Think about it. All the waters of the earth. The rivers and oceans. The clouds and rains. The snow and ice. Even the lakes and ponds, have within them certain cyclic, circulating properties. When the oceans are heated by the sun, the water is evaporated into a half liquid, half gas compound called water vapor. This water vapor travels so high into the sky and gathers, where it eventually turns into clouds. These clouds sweep over the lands and rain gather water vapors back onto the land as water. Freezing in the mountains these clouds of water vapor snow in the mountains to from mass sheets of ice in the high latitudes of the earth. When the summer comes this ice and snow melts

This is the prototype of the book of Water. Not finished Yet, but i am working on finishing it bit by bit. Eventually i should have all the qualities and concepts fleshed out and filled up into a complete document.
This is what i have so far though. Although its clearly not done, i figure some of you might be able to see alittle where i am going with the thing.

I figured i might as well post it, and let you guys see what peices of this puzzle of mine i have put together already..

See if you like it, or if maybe you would have something to critik, something you would add... or maybe something you could take away from it.

Posting it for you guys.
Hope you like it!!!

Peace be with you, Deviantee's ;}
