Quantum ThunderStorms
~It all starts with water vapor.~
The Sun, appearing in the sky, shoots rays of sunlight down onto the surface of the lands of earth. Photon Beams touch down all over the world. Heating the air, the land, and water. As Photons beams of sunlight touch down onto Water, H2O, the heat of the suns photons warm the waters molecular structure. This causing some of its structure, the very top layer, to be vaporized upon the touch of the photon rays.
This happens wherever sunlight touches the surface of bodily substance of water on earth.
Puddles of water on the land. Ponds, Lakes, Rivers.
And most abundantly, the Oceans.
Sunlight touches down onto these bodies of water, and vaporizes small percentages of the liquid H2O Water, turning it from its liquasous form, to a gaseous one. A Gas known to mankind as a substance called Water Vapor.
This water vapor, heated from the heat of the sunlight, and having molecules that are denser compact than the air around it... travels upwards so it can disperse it’s molecular pressure, and equilibrize with the atmosphere.
That is that water vapor, needs to travel upwards to attain equilibrium in an atmosphere like earth.
Thats the first part of the Earths Stormy schemes. And is the cause of cloud formation where ever and whenever it occurs.
~And thereafter, An Empire of Clouds is Built~
The Sun heats these bodies of water up, in variables of degrees, all around the world. And this heating the sun does also causes evaporation, all over the world. Where ever the Light might touch liquid water, there is a good chance on a hot day that the water is being to some extent, evaporated by the Sun’s rays.
Liquid water turns into gaseous water vapor, that disperses henceforth into the atmosphere.
Basically all water that is evaporated by the sun,(Because it is hard for extra elements to be turned into gas along with H2O), is made up of the same chemical properties, and is mostly a uniform type of substance that ascends into the air. Pure water vapor.
All this pure water vapor, ascends in masses into the air, and attains equilibrium at just about the same height.
Because water vapor is typically still very close to it liquascious form(molecularly very dense, and coagulative), When it does attain equilibrium at a particular height, with all the other cumalitives of water vapor added by the sun... The water vapor molecules right there, at that particular height in the sky.. Begin to clump up, and stick onto each other.
Building and building... From invisible bouts of vapor... To little wisps of mist.. and finally, with the progression of accumulation, Giant puff balls of water vapor.
Puff balls that people call in english, "clouds".
~ And So The White Fleets of Fleece Fly on across the Globe ~
These Clouds, essentially gangs of water vapor, that have collected together so much to the point of being made visible, are still pretty much still considered to be the gaseous form of water, Water Vapor. These Clouds of gaseous water vapor, still being lighter than the air below them, travel with the help of wind high up in the Skies of the planet. From a Usual distance of 10 to 12 miles, these fortresses of water molecules drift about the world, at the speed of alittle less than half of that of the average speed of wind. around 10 to 20 mph.
It is from these floating fortresses, that we can see the rains precipitate across the world.
But not all clouds of water vapor, that form, and travel the winds of the sky, are creators of rain, and thunder.
For a cloud, to begin to “rain” back down to the earth, it is required to be of a certain density, or otherwise have some sort of atmospheric circumstance that would allow it to do so.
For those who want a slight shower of water from these fluffy giants of vapor, it is not impossible for precipitation to occur the right conditions with lesser clouds.
But if what your looking for is a full on rainstorm? With the sky pouring dramatic amounts of water, high wind, thunder and lightning. Then the type of cloud you are looking for is the; cumulonimbus.
Dense, dense clouds. That reach high into the sky, and are expanded across miles and miles across and above the lands.
Clouds like these usually being the genre of clouds known as Cumulonimbus.
Cumulonimbus clouds are clouds of water vapor, clouds of cloud material, that have reached max density within their structures. These are the thickest clouds that you see in the sky. Mass balls of puffy stuff, that can be a vivid white color along the beginning of their formation, but later on(after accumulating more vapor to their giant puffy frames) will appear as clouds of grey and dark grey. And this color of grey only means that the water vapor that is contained within them is packed to such an extent, that the light is being blocked and distorted upon hitting the clouds, enough to create dark grey shadows within its features. Enough even to block out the light of the sun on the brightest day of the year. These clouds of water vapor inside the cumulonimbus clouds are at their densest and most compact.
If there is storm happening somewhere, anywhere on earth. The chances are that the storm is starting from and falling from a Cumulonimbus.
And with the accumulative presence of a mass amount of cumulonimbus's, then it
From here, The initiation of a thunderstorm, is caused by three main variables; 1. Moisture 2. Unstable Airmass 3. A lifting force of heated air pressure
~All the ingredients assembled, The beginnings of a Thunderstorm begin to brew~
So you could say, That a thunderstorm, basically will start when there enough clouds around. With enough molecular particulates filling every square foot of space in the sky. And the presence of cold air from the higher altitudes of the sky; the cold air from close by, surrounding areas; and maybe cold air from even below the clouds themselves mixes with the warm air and(or) water vapor air pressure of the giant lumbering Cumulonimbus's.
~ Electricity Fills the air in the preeminence of the Storm ~
The culmination of differentiating temperatures, means that air currents suddenly begin to start to circulate within the mainframe of the Cumulonimbus clouds. Air and cloud currents really being caused by differently charged water vapor & air molecules trying to balance themselves. The occurrence of these air currents mean Molecules are going crazy within the cloud. Expanding and contracting, moving up and down and all around, creating air pressure turbulence.
And with the creation of Air pressure turbulence crazy charges are suddenly going on within the hydro-oxygen atom mediums of the clouds. Posi-negitave. Negi-positive. Switching back and fowarth and changing all around. These Crazy charges inevitably mean that a current of natural conduction can go off somewhere in the cloud. I.e. lightning. A sure sign, at this stage that you can tell that there is about to be some wet action, going on in the cloud.
~The air pressure suddenly drops~
Once they have started there is an organized orchestra of gravity , occurring within the molecules of the atmosphere. One of The most common feature of a storm, is a lowering of air pressure.
Thats why anytime that you walk outside, and its about to rain, you know that its going to, because you can "feel it"in the air. The feeling that most of us are talking about in instances like that, is the feeling of low air pressure in the atmosphere outside.
Low pressure in the air, means high gravity in the sky, and with clouds around, that usually means that its going to rain. Low air pressure, is caused many times by the heating and then cooling of air... something that causes molecules of air to bunch up real good, and then to thin out even better.
~And when you feel the air drop, the clouds begin to drip~
Whenever the air molecules of the low low atmosphere lose their pressure... molecules higher up, above the low atmosphere are caused to feel the effects of gravity more vividly... More because they are sitting on less molecules, and more "free space" So then these giant clouds, sitting high above the lands of earth.
These empires of water vapor molecules. Densely packed webs of molecules... similar in likeness and appearance to a very thin balls of cotton... These empires of molecules suddenly, over every inch of their frames, through every centimeter of their volumes, begin to feel the effects of gravity more vividly.
And this happens all within the expanse of usually just a moment [Air is quick, and when air pressure goes. It usually goes fast] So gravity become proliferated through every inch of these towering clouds in the sky. And you know what happens then?
They Drip!!
Haha, when its raining outside, I’m pretty sure that we are all being dripped on...
in masse amounts
If you have ever seen how the rain on a windshield, or a windowpane of glass will be dotted all over by a bunch of different water droplets. And then with the effect of gravity, they will slide down, knock into another droplet, become heavier, and then slide down all on at once as one droplet. That i think, is almost precisely the thing that happens in those clouds that float above us hundreds of feet.... except it happens on a much thinner, much smaller scale(cause you dealing with mass amounts of water vapor molecules)
So those empires of water vapor above us, are basically collapsing on themselves up there... hundreds of feet in the air, certain particular points of the clouds are gaining weight, congesting molecules into coagulated little beads of molecules... a hundred thousand particles to transform one bit of water vapor, back into liquid water,... hundreds of feet into the air...
And then that water, then, definitely heavier than the gas below it... falls back to earth... to fall on somebodies head, or somewhere on the land.
Collapsing in mass amounts. Falling in mass amounts.
One hundred thousand beads of liquid being formed all over the cloud at any given moment. Formed enough to gain weight, and free fall several miles through the air, before these one hundreds thousnad beads of liquid plop right up onto the ground!
Splish!
~And once it begins to rain, The sky’s begin to pour~
And with the falling of the rain... and dispersal of cool water onto the ground.. the air pressure usually has a tendency to fall again... even after the first air pressure drop that started the storm in the first place.
Another air pressure drop, means higher gravity for all those things still in the sky.. and the empire of clouds rain even heavier, and heavier.
Sheets of rain, cause air pressure to dive down in increments, Causing and perpetuating even harder sheets of rain!
Sheet after sheet, until the air pressure is all shot up, and the whole system of the empire of clouds, is all falling earthbound, onto the heads of people all over the cities and town. All of them getting dripped on, en masse, by these floating fortresses of molecules!
Empires of clouds that could have been built, from places all over the world...naturally of course, by the Sun.. and all its high energy photons.
~And it only gets worse from here~
The wind. The wind also often times plays a part in Rainstorms. Whenever a Storm has begun to culminate, and expiate itself across a space of land or sea, You might be able to guess that the gas particles that are naturally hanging around in the sky, in the atmosphere, are going absolutely bonkers!
A regular temperature and charge before the rainstorm, is within a rainstorm soon displaced by a very sharp turn in air temperature. And with the turn of temperature, there is a turn in air pressure. So Gases that were charged, and pressurized in particular way in one moment, are met with a very sudden change in the temperature, and pressure.
As a result, things get very feisty, very fast.
Warm gas with high pressure will move towards cool gas with low pressure, at any given point in time the option is available. With the arrival of rain, not only is that cool temperature suddenly provided over vast regions of space all over the surface of the ground, but also an agent of cool denser air pressure is added into the mix, from the splash-back of thousands of different water droplets plummeting to the earth a plopping up onto the ground. Cool densely packed water vapor bounces back into the atmosphere, and suddenly, the avenues of direction for gas, become a trifecta of different directional agents.
This is what i might guess causes the crazy winds that people experience through the duration of a rainstorm. Temperatures and pressure systems changing rapidly, and seeking equilibriums that are being constantly and consistently changed throughout the entire area affected by the storm.
~ And dont forget the main event of the show! ~
And there is one more element of the rainstorm left to discuss. And that is by far the most interesting natural phenomena of the entire occurrence. And that is... you might have guessed. The Lightning, and effect of thunder.
Lightning occurs in a rainstorm when there is so much turbulence in the molecules within a given rainstorm that massive amounts friction charge are generated by the colliding and coalescing different bodies.
~ The Air Molecules are going crazy! A charge is produced ~
As said before, during a rainstorm, the molecules of the atmosphere are undergoing an absolute whirlwind of different directions and circumstances. Both those molecules of the gaseous air, and those of the semi-gas semi-liquasous water vapor clouds. When the molecules of water vapor are subjected to the right amount of turbulence within their movements across the upper skirts of the atmosphere, the molecules begin to become charged with electrical friction from constant interactions with each other. This electrical charge means that the electrons of the atoms of the molecules that comprise the elements of the water vaporous clouds(Hydrogen2oxy), the electrons of these molecules are going crazy from being knocked into each other and separated at such a quick and enormous rate. Electrons are best kept when they are at peace within their orbits around their nuclei of any given atom. But if electrons are knocked around to much, by the right forces, the molecular structure of the element weakens... and suddenly high powered electrons are ready to break free and blast away.
Electricity itself even within the modern world use, is only actually a bunch of electrons, that have broken away from their nuclei and are rushing towards another magnetic end of the world.
When electrons in the molecular structure of the water vapor storm clouds are knocked about around and against each other, the electrons are incited to move faster, creating vast amounts quantum potential energy within the storm clouds.
So much energy administered and given to these molecules, means that these castles of watery cotton floating above ourselves are getting somewhat molecularly heated.
And with all that potential charge, the energy of the clouds, after only a short bit of time is begging to be released.
~There becomes a pathway for the energy ~
Lucky enough for those who enjoy the sight and sound of a thunderstorm, water vapor is actually a perfectly competent conductor of electricity, or electrical charge.
Due to certain points of the cloud, and the atmosphere, being warmer and colder, there becomes pathways for gathered energetical potential, to be released. And the result of its releasment, is what we know of as Lightning.
Lightning that occurs within a cloud, is a stream of energy that has been released from one warm side of the cloud, onto another side of the cloud that had been colder in temperature.
Just picture a massive amount of floating red and blue balloons, and consider them differently temped, charged, water vapor molecules; Red for warm charged molecules, Blue for cool charged molecules.
In the midst of a hundred thousand of each of these type of balloons, the temperatures would be exchanging constantly between the both of these. Some balloons becoming blue, that were red before, some becoming red, that were blue before. And in general all the balloons swirling and whiling in on one another.
In the occasion of lightning, you would see in this massive clouds of balloons, one particular area receive a good congestion of red balloons. Say 200 red balloons particles in one split moment all swirl into the same area and collide... meanwhile, and the other side of the cloud, 200 blue balloons swirl into another area and collide. For one split second, within this chaotic molecular structure of a storm cloud, A perfect circut is made.
One end positive, and the other negative. A split second superhighway is opened up within the water vapor of the cloud, and every surrounding bit of potential energy that had been gathered in the rolling and bustling before suddenly has a path of releasment.
~There is a Flash of Energy ~
In that way, the warm, positive charge collision of red ballon particles receive a hundred thousand gigawatts of potential fiction energy, rushing on towards the cool spotted blue negative area.
~ Lightning!!! ~
So many electrons. So much energy, moves along this appeared highway so fast, that they together literally light up as a gigantic arc of electricity. Arcs that can have the power, for a moment to light the entire sky, for hundreds of miles with their luminosity.
If you ever wondered what lightning was before. I would tell you now. Thats it. Billions of electrons charged from excessive friction with one another, rapidly moving from one especially positive spot, to another especially neutral spot.
Many times those two different point will lie between the clouds in the sky, and the ground below. This being because, the ground below is always endowed with a holistically negative charge. And when there is enough positive charge high in the cloud, it is only natural for the overall charge to seek to aim downwards, towards the negatively charged land. In times like those lightning touches down onto the earth, instead of in the clouds, and truly gives you a feel, for how much energy exactly was being developed in those.....
~ Thunder starts the Show ~
All the storms i know of, start of with the lightning first... At least one shot of lightning, or thunder. Some sort of charge.. And then after that the rain starts
and the reason for this i think is simple as well as kind’ve funny.
The rainstorm for the most part wants to attain equilibrium in the sky... Like the natural physics with fluids do, namely and especially water & air.. The elements want to keep their overall balance with the circumstances around them.
But with the buildup of turbulence of positive and negative charges in the air molecules and quasi-air/water vapor molecules, at the beginning of a thunderstorm, the balance is constantly being threatened... or put on a teetering edge
the charges are going to build up to a hectik point before all these water molecules start to loosen up some of the air space,..
My guess is that a natural electric charge will occur, before the air space is loosened up..
lightning charge (before) water vapor moves its butt, so the charges can try to balance themselves
So lightning occurs somewhere
And then after the lightning you get thunder... which is a physical force that moves through the entire cloud, and knocks massive amounts of water vape particles into each other...
Creating the first bout of rain...
If you could imagine, nature being passed off about no space to move... So it gives itself a good whack.. to knock some of itself down
And with the first downpour of rain<- caused by the thunder knocking it,.. then you would get a lowering of air pressure, in the air below the cloud rain hits the ground and scatters and compresses the air
Causing less gravity for the cloud and leads to more of its structure falling and more* gravity for the cloud
~ The quantum orchestra is playing a symphony just for you ~
But. . . .
Hopefully next time there is a rainstorm, the aspect of it will seem alittle more complex than a big cloud ruining your day by showering you and everything else with water pellets.
Maybe after reading this, you would see that rainstorms are actually one of natures most compelling orchestras of natural forces. Every feature of them, just one more miraculous facet of the universe we live in. And maybe reading this, you would be compelled to see more than just the rainstorm as a natural occurrence of beauty. But all the different things that fill our world. From the Trees and the wind. To the Sun and the Earth. Even the funny looking human beings that we are ourselves.
But thats it. Look out for the next rainstorm, that heads your way. And know that in some way, it’s orchestra is playing for you.
